I've never really written anything on here...

So I figured the time was right.  This might be a good place to vent all my upcoming Renaissance fair excitement that would otherwise bore the people around me.

I kind of want to venture away from Bristol at least a couple times this summer.  Not abandon it completely, but check out other fairs as well.  I'm a tad wary of doing this because the last time... it turned out to be a purple cardboard castle and a billion wannabe gypsies waving their guts around.  Not that I'm against gypsies, but maybe the ones in Wausau just freaked me out.  Anyway, we'll see what happens.

And I'm getting really pissed about my costume for some reason.  I can't seem to put it together nicely, and I definitely don't want it to be the same as last year.  The blue dress is required because I have no other, and it's hands down, amazing, but the accessory part.... goddamn.  Let's see, there's the belt to hold my pouch that I have to find?  Possibly find a different scarf thing for around my waist... I refuse to use the green one a second time in a row.  The purse I'm making will go with it.  Jewelry?  There were these mink tail earrings I have to remember to get off Ebay tonight, ha.  Whatever, I'm thinking too far ahead.

But this purse I'm making is pretty cool.  Though it's Native American-esque, I'm still taking it to the Ren. fair... I don't mind mixing things up a bit.  The sueded leather is a gold color, and I'm lining it with a gold/mustard polyester.  How I'm going to do this is beyond me since I've never lined anything, but I'll find a way.  On the outside of the bag, I'm doing four 1"x5" lines of blue beading.  It's taking forever, and I'm only half way done with the second line, but it gives me something to do when I'm lonely in my dorm room.  The toggle for the flap will probably be a piece of deer horn, and I'm not sure about the strap yet.  Maybe the same leather as the outside, maybe a scrap belt to make things easier.  Hopefully it'll be done by the time I come home.  I'll post pictures when I have time.

I am well thank thee. I understand the journey, from hair halfway down my back to above the collar and on my way back down again.

Yes, if you have the funds and time to go to MNRF in Shakopee, DO!! It's very fun! Puke n' Snot are these two 60-somethings who have been doing the same 4 shows since they first started way back when. they're very funny, but unfortunately, all four times i've been there it's been the same show! *whimper* Still funny as ever though. Although, i think people get annoyed when i say the punchlines before Puke or Snot does.. Anyways, it's a hoot! I'm going to MNRF Labor Day weekend, hopefully! Maybe I'll see you there!

    Love & Peace,

    Caro
